Steve is a creative director and art director as well as an adept problem solver with over twenty years experience in advertising. His philosophy is simple - constantly push to make any brand message clear, consistent and above all entertaining.
Originally from Scotland, he immigrated to Canada which gave him the opportunity to think about a change in career. So he decided to leave engineering and seek out a job in advertising. He has been working in the business for over twenty years now and has even managed to pick up a few awards along the way, including Cannes and the Communication Arts Annual.
He has worked on a wide variety of brands including Tim Hortons, Kraft, Nestle, Cadbury Adams, Kellogg, Shell and Sick Kids. Most recently he led the automotive creative group at Publicis, working on brands like Jeep and Ram. You may have seen some of his favourite projects if you ever attended the Canadian International Auto Show. He even got to design a Ram branded goalie mask for Sportsnet.
His first career was in electrical engineering as a research fellow at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He specialized in high voltage engineering and received an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in that field.
In his spare time, he paints and is a member of the North Toronto Group of Artists. He has also turned his hand to making some ‘award-winning’ Halloween costumes over the years.
